Service Desk Technician

Salary dependent upon experience

Reporting to the Senior Service Delivery Manager this role is as part of a team on the technical Service Desk, providing remote 2nd line IT support to a wide range of outsourced clients with the aim of exceeding all SLA’s and delighting our customers by means of exceptional customer service and strong technical ability. The successful candidate will work on a shift pattern to cover a 24/7 period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolving 2nd line incidents and requests
  • Taking ownership of end user faults and bringing them to a successful resolution
  • Ensuring all tickets are resolved to a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Providing prompt escalation to 3rd Line Support/ Problem Management team as required
  • Providing regular feedback to clients re the status of their tickets
  • Providing exceptional communication between the service desk, end users and resolver groups
  • Effective ticket management and tracking using the Remedy ticket logging system
  • Meeting and exceeding customer specific service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Proactive Management of tickets raised with 3rd party resolver groups
  • Utilising various remote takeover tools when necessary
  • Liaising and assisting Field Engineers on client sites
  • Ensuring all tickets are categorised to correct standards
  • Following internal processes for assigning tickets to the correct department or individuals
  • Following Security admin and information security processes
  • Following Sev-1 / Sev-2 escalations and notifications where appropriate.

Junior Project Engineer

Field Engineer

Salary Scale: £TBC

Benefits include: Company vehicle  or £350 allowance per month plus mobile phone/PDA

Mobile field services engineer, supplied with transport and computer  spares, to attend field maintenance calls retrieved via PDA mobile device

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect calls via internet overnight and by PDA during the day.
  • Attend assigned calls to fault find and fix client equipment, within the SLA period.
  • Adhere to customer guidelines whilst working on client sites.
  • Tackle server machines.
  • Assist Junior and field engineers with technical issues. 
  • Update the calls accordingly, order parts or loans where necessary.
  • Arrange shipment of faulty items to repair agents.
  • Submit expenses and paperwork on a monthly basis.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain car as necessary.

 

Competencies

  • Building upon PC and printer knowledge, updating skills by self study.

Security Consultant

Salary dependent on experience

Self-motivated, fast learning networking & security consultant to join a growing team of professional services consultants on a permanent basis. Working primarily on your own but as part of a team you will be involved in delivery of networking and security solutions at customer sites.Predominantly a customer facing role, you will be required to organise and work under your own time, as well as attend customer sites for both pre sales and engineering / install / implementation tasks. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

SQL Database Administrator 

Solid SQL, development, database management and administration / analysis skills with project implementation experience are required for this client facing role, along with excellent communications skills and adaptability to handle all IT issues with composure and flexibility.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years working with SQL Server 2005 / 2008 in a clustered environment, 12 months experience of SQL Server 2008 required

Selection Network Engineer

Salary dependent upon experience

We are seeking an individual that can demonstrate excellent network and security skills. This role will be operating within a team of specialist Network / Security engineers who look after the Selections internal and client networks. To be considered for this role you need to be able to demonstrate the ability of design, implementation and support of a network involving routing, switching and firewall technologies.

Essential Skills

 

  • Strong understanding of OSI model
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP
  • Layer-2 switching (Spanning Tree, Ether-Channels, VLANs etc)
  • Dynamic Routing Protocols (GBP, OFPS, EIGRP)
  • Platform experience in HP Switching, Cisco (WAN / LAN/ Security appliances), Check Point, Juniper, WatchGuard etc)
  • Established track record of troubleshooting technical issues through to resolution
  • Provide 3rd line support across technologies
  • Work closely with 3rd parties and other departments

Application Support Specialist 

Salary dependent on experience

 

You will be responsible for remotely monitoring and managing the key systems of IMM clients. The successful candidate will need to go through the SC clearance process and will be working on a rostered shift pattern. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Use Insight Manager to monitor system hardware faults. 
  • Use Nagios/ HP Sitescope/ HP Insight to monitor system utilisation, including collating reports for system upgrades and advising on recommendations. 
  • Perform daily checks on system backups and perform scheduled restores. 
  • Review and Install critical system updates. 
  • Manage day-to-day administration of customer infrastructure tasks 
  • Work to SLA’s to resolve server and comms issues. 
  • Provide technical infrastructure support for customers. 
  • Evaluation, handling and resolution of Infrastructure technical issues, in such a way that the problems are always registered and carried out to SLA's, actions and solutions are communicated via available tools. 
  • Administer Wintel Server infrastructure. 
  • Monitor physical infrastructure (HW & OS). 
  • This role will be predominately support focussed rather than project based.

Virtualisation and Storage Specialist   

You will be responsible for remotely monitoring and managing the key systems of IMM clients. The succesful candidate will need to go through the SC clearance process and will be working with multiple infrastructures in a managed service environment with a great number of different vendors and solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • The use of various tools to monitor the infrastructure (HW & OS).
  • Perform daily checks on storage systems. 
  • Review and Install critical system updates. 
  • Manage day-to-day administration of customer infrastructure tasks 
  • Work to SLA’s to resolve VM related and storage related issues. 
  • Provide technical infrastructure support for customers. 
  • Evaluation, handling and resolution of Infrastructure technical issues, in such a way that the problems are always registered and carried out to SLA's, actions and solutions are communicated via available tools. 
  • Administer Wintel Server infrastructure.
  • Administer multiple VM environments
  • This role will be predominately support focussed rather than project based but is not limited to. 

Essential Qualifications /Experience 

  • Vmware 3.5, 4.0, 4.1, 5.0 including VCP certification.
  • Microsoft Hyper-V including relevant MS virtualisation Certifications.
  • Experience with all Citrix products Xen Server, Xen App Xen Desktop (relevant certifications desirable)
  • Expert in Windows 2003 / 2008 Server and Windows 7 and various Linux OS. (relevant certifications desirable)

Experience supporting the following storage technologies:

  • Equalogic
  • EVA
  • HP/Lefthand
  • Hitachi storage solutions (desirable)
  • Netapp (desirable)
  • Regular exposure to backup and replication technologies including Veeam backup & replication and Falconstor products in a support environment
  • HP Chassis / Blade based server technology running i.e. C7000, C3000 infrastructure.
  • Flex Fabric networks including Flex 10 for Blade infrastructures.
  • LAN and WAN environments and TCP/IP 
  • Security related systems, such as Cisco Firewalls, switches, VLans, trunks etc.
